when everything else fails

Feeling Lighter

finally i will fly
i can touch for real
this blue sky
this feeling overwhelms
as i lay suspended
in limbo

emotions and memories
from a not so distant past
broken hearts and empty bottles
all those heavy worries
and forever saying sorries
blurs away when i close my eyes
this blue sky i float
lightens my sorrow
fades away my sorrow
this dream i dream
leaves no tomorrow
to wake up again
my dream will forever last
no more pain to bury
no more deviations from sober
this limbo takes me over

finally i will not fall
i can touch for real
this blue sky
this feeling overwhelms
sorrows shall disappear fast
my dream will forever last

  5. I read your poem three times…it invoked a sense of freedom…perhaps death and the release of the spirit from a body that has fought many battles and lived its life the best it could…love being one of the most rewarding yet most destructive emotions we can experience…now free from the worries that took one from such heights to such lows. Nothing like the blue sky above a blue ocean…where the birds fly…to symbolize freedom of burden.

  7. I had the feeling of death too–no more pain and sorrow–flying free at last. Doesn’t sound like such a bad thing! Wonderfully done and I love that image!

  12. Such a provocative thought. I hear such a range of emotions in this work–hope, despair, regret, exhaustion…

“from a not so distant past” makes me think that recent events have triggered the forward consideration of a better time and place. Afterlife? Dream? Such a beautiful anthem of faith and perseverance

Enjuoying is probably slang for something
wickedly exciting but of what, well who knows? 🙂 lol

    Sorry about the dreadful typo…
