when everything else fails

Say not I’m boring, Forget me not

have not wars to fight
not any games to win
no aims to reach
neither promises to keep

say not i’m boring, forget me not
my light isn’t far but i can’t reach

have no fires to ignite
no candles to blow
not any cages to lock
none to open

say not i’m boring, forget me not
my light isn’t far but i can’t reach

have not any speeches to make
nor silences to keep
neither labyrinths to escape
nor places to trot

say not i’m boring, forget me not
my light isn’t far but i can’t reach

i remember the days long gone
you showed me a path, i fell in a hole
i made light for darkness to come, you blew my candle
you stole my salvation, but i stole your peace

say not i’m boring, forget me not
my light isn’t far but i can’t reach

my spirit isn’t blank nor it’s full
today dark is my days as is the night
cold is the dawn as is the dusks
i’m alone, but i forgot you not

say not i’m boring, forget me not
my light isn’t far but i can’t reach

  1. This touches me I remember meeting friends after a long absence they had high flying jobs and I had children , I felt I had nothing to offer, nothing to say. I did not consider that they may well have felt the same. Also I can see in it love found and lost and at a little cost.
I love the lines “say not i’m boring, forget me not
my light isn’t far but i can’t reach” They highlight my fears.

  2. Ankoku Hikaru

Nice, I like the repetition, and how it’s written sort of like… a list(for lack of a better word). Very enjoyable.
