when everything else fails

radio static oozing from ear buds
long since stations went to sleep
still that elusive feeling
of drowsiness fails to come
into the deepest oceans of dark
eyes plunge to cover and bury
nocturnal illusions mind plays
to distance the numbness of sleep
hours and minutes are frozen
on a phosphorous glow of a clock face
seconds count with an audible tick
slowly leads to madness of another
tired dawn when stations greet morning
and the hapless cycle continues

hmm this provides a simple meaningful prequel to the latter one, nocturnal illusions..i think this is too straight forward to say anything other than that.
